Embroidered Chevron Pillow

I hope you all had a good weekend? Mine was fun, I went to a friends wedding on Saturday and although the weather was awful for the bride I wanted to brighten her day by making the happy couple a personalised pillow for her living room. She has some red and grey pieces dotted around the room so I thought these colours would fit in nicely.
I finished it off with 'zinzi & fynn' and the wedding date embroidered to the back of the pillow, so they will always have a memento of the big day :) I haven't used this chevron quilting effect before, but I will definately be trying it again - so cute! p.s. apologies for the rubbish photos, I took them in about five minutes flat before we dashed off!!

Cloud 9 Simpatico Pillows

I picked up these Cloud9 fabrics with the plan of making some pillow covers for my friend Laura. I used my simple envelope pillow tutorial to make, though when I purchased the fabric I miss-calculated how much I would need and ended up having to add in a strip of pink check for the back panels.
...turns out, I really like this 'miss calculation'! ;) I topped them off with a coordinating orange stripe binding to jazz them up a bit more. They are right up her street with their peachy, pastel colour scheme - you only have to have a nose over at her Pinterest boards to realise how perfect they are! (p.s she always pins amazing things, so please follow her).
oh and I just couldn't resist this sweet stack of Bavaria fat quarters by Timeless Treasures, so kitsch! Can't wait to make something fun out of these :)
Don't forget to take a look at my previous post; I'm selling a bunch of fabrics as part of my fabric de-stash, you can pick up some great bargins!! Speak soon, xo

Finished Dutch Pinwheel Quilt

Hi friends! Wow, how time flies! I can't believe it's august already?
During my blog absence I finally managed to finish up my Dutch pinwheel quilt yayy! I do like how it's turned out. Thank you for all your helpful ideas on how to finish my border, as you can see I chose a pretty Atsuko Matsuyama floral print, finished with a soft yellow binding. It's a nice lap size measuring 44" x 57", perfect for relaxing with in the evening :)
I chose to simply stitch in the ditch again for this quilt, (I'm too scared to try free motion just yet!). For the back I managed to use a pink gingham bed sheet, which works out well for me  because I never seem to have enough fabric for backing!
and I even managed to get a quick picture outside while the sun was shining! Hope you all had a good weekend? Jessie, xo
